The Corner Deli in Charlestown, Rhode Island, originated over 35 years ago in 1987 by longtime native, Carl Schieldrop . Over those decades he built a welcoming local establishment with the focus of providing delicious sandwiches at an economical cost to both the local patrons and traveling tourists of coastal Rhode Island. A seasonal sandwich shop people could rely on, just like the incoming and outgoing tides each beach season.

In 2024, the owners of Jitters Cafè purchased The Corner Deli, which happens to be right next door to their Charlestown coffee shop.

Owners, Sue and Ray Osbrey have provided the deli an interior face-lift and increased the menu items, while staying true to the local Corner Deli Classics that kept the faithful coming back year after year.

They hope to continue the tradition of offering delicious bites at a reasonable cost, while also making it easier to order with online ordering. Because we all know you rather be at the beach, than standing in line.
